DATA POLICY
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to safeguard data and information collected by The Great Nepali Diaspora (TGND) within a secure environment. This policy informs the TGND team and other authorized personnel about the access, use, retention, and disposal of data and information.
Scope
The policy applies to all the TGND team involved in the Diaspora Mapping survey and any other authorized personnel that uses the data or works with the information collected from the survey.
Goal
It is the goal of the TGND that:

Information collected from the Diaspora Mapping survey will be protected against unauthorized access or misuse.

Confidentiality, integrity, and privacy of the data and information will be secured. For more details, please refer to our Privacy Policy here.

Data stored in a secured cloud environment will be de-identified to maintain privacy and confidentiality and will be accessed by the survey team.

Original data collected by the survey will only be accessed by the Project Manager and Survey Administrator and managed using secure cloud-based tools.

When data is no longer in use, it will be removed from all cloud environments in a suitable and secure manner.

Information collected from the survey will be used to prepare reports and social media posts and to inform any future relevant research proposals or grants.
